In order to improve cross-platform functionality and to enhance the Paging feature, we have made a change to our configuration template for Yealink phones. This change impacts phones using the Yealink_PureEdge templates with firmware v83.0.30 and above. Phones using these templates simply need to be rebooted for the enhancement to be implemented. Contact your local administrator or PureEdge support if your phone needs a firmware upgrade.
Paging Zones
Be default, Yealink phones are only configured with Paging Zone 1. Furthermore, phones that are on a call or in a DND state will not receive pages to this Zone. This enhancement adds Paging Zones 24 and 25 to allow for barging into otherwise busy phones. These Page Zones match with default Polycom settings, so they are consistent in a multi-platform environment.
Zone 24 = Priority
Active Calls will be placed on Hold so the Page Announcement can be heard. Press the red Call Appearance to retrieve the call once the page is over. Phones in DND mode will not receive the Page. Active Pages to Zone 1 will be overridden.
Zone 25 = Emergency
Active Calls will be placed on Hold so the Page Announcement can be heard. Press the red Call Appearance to retrieve the call once the page is over. Phones in DND mode will receive the Page. Active Pages to Zones 1 and 24 will be overridden.
