If you need to start fresh with a Standard Mailbox, you will need to delete the original mailbox and recreate it. These steps will guide you through the process.
Step One: You will need to disassociate the mailbox from the extension it's assigned to.
- In the portal, navigate to Services >> Extensions >> Select the edit icon to the left of the extension you would like assign the new mailbox to.
- Scroll down to the Voice Mailbox section and select "No Associated Mailbox" from the drop-down list
- Save. (The system may warn you to not route to a mailbox. You can ignore the warning since we're not done yet)
Step Two: You will need to delete the mailbox.
- In the portal, navigate to Services >> Mailbox >> locate the mailbox.
- Click on the red X to the left of the Mailbox Number.
- Click Delete (WARNING: This action cannot be undone)
Step Three: Now you will recreate the mailbox
- In the portal, navigate to Services >> Mailbox >> New Standard Mailbox.
- Enter the mailbox number of the original mailbox (note: the password will automatically be filled in with the same number you used for the Mailbox Number).
- Enter the Name (for Directory) to match the same name you modified in Step One.
- Make any other necessary modifications (Voicemail-to-Email, Include in Directory, etc.)
- Save.
Step Four: Now you will re-assign the mailbox to the extension.
- In the portal, navigate to Services >> Extensions >> Select the edit icon to the left of the extension you would like assign the new mailbox to.
- Scroll down to the Voice Mailbox section and select the new mailbox from the drop-down.
- Scroll up and navigate to the Advanced Tab located in the Routing & Configuration section.
- Verify that the correct (new) mailbox number is filled in the Message Waiting Extension field. If not, change it accordingly. Otherwise, skip this step.
- Save.
